Not family friendly at all, always got yelled at from the instructors that are doing a private lesson to get out of their way. No instructions or help at all, always telling the kids that they need private lesson which is $85 per person

I think this is a very great place to ski and snowboard, and I actually learn to snowboard here. It has very nice sections for beginners and the wall for experts.
Nice staff, good snow!
Lift limes can get long when not all lifts are open.

PSA…Warning to all parents (especially girl parents). My 15 year old daughter was assaulted by 3 teenage boys tonight at the top of a hill just feet from security. They threw chunks of ice at her face, resulting in lacerations to the face, a swollen jaw and a black eye. After speaking to management…absolutely nothing done, absolutely no apology, zero refund. I will never allow my daughters to go to this resort again! So sad! We’ve been going there for over 10 years and it just continues to get rowdier and it’s tolerated by staff. Be careful sending your teens there!
No safe! My daughter was assaulted!

Overall I feel like Jason deserves some type of raise or bonus for putting in all the work he does to make sure every customer is satisfied!!
Jason in the cafe was very respectful, and very helpful.
No cons

Management sucks and ski rental equipment is scarce Nice sunny January day and Pineknob has no ski or snowboard rentals at all! Management could care less and told me they have no plans of purchasing additional equipment. Lines are not long at all so just incredibly bad management or they have no money. Avoid Pineknob if you need to rent skis! It’s kind of like a pizza place running out of cheese.

They charge an arm and a leg now for lift tickets. The lines are outrageous, and for as long as they've been open, and as much as they charge now they should update their lifts, and put a speed lift in. Last year they had multiple days where the ticket office had a 4 hour line wrapped around the parking lot and like I said the chair lift line is ridiculous.

Great SNOWMAKING and grooming! Can not be beat. Great Urban SNOW playground. Great beginner/learn to ski programs. Practice for all levels of skiing. Great place to get your ski legs on before going east, west or else where!
Location to an urban center

Pine Knob is a great place to get your fix in if you're not hopping on a plane or trying to drive 3+ hours. Phase 1 and Shaboom are the longest and steepest Black Diamonds in Metro Detroit. Pine Knob is only 300 ft. of vert but it has a very good Run:Chair Time Ratio so you can do 8,000-10,000 ft. of total vert in one Afternoon. The Crew goes the extra mile to get the hill covered, packed and well groomed during Marginal Temperatures. Ownership/Management do a good job of getting the season started as early as possible. This dedication better serves their Season Passholders and the general SE Michigan Day Skier than the crew at Mt. Brighton (Vail Resorts).
Run to Chair Ratio, Close to Home, Best Snow/Grooming of the 4 local hills.
Lots of Patrollers Drilling on Sat and Sun Morning

You have to take it for what it is - easy to get to, skiing in an area with no natural terrain. They run the place great, the snow is good, staff are very good. A lot of clueless people do go there so it can be dangerous, and I'd say that's the only negative to the place.
Convenient location, good place to learn
Very short runs, lots of clueless people ski/board there
